The agent fixes the bug, introduces two more, then fixes those. Another prompt will not break that. You need someone to map severity and stop the bleeding on a scope small enough to finish.
What to do
- Stop the drive-by refactors
- Reproduce the bug with a failing test or a short script
- Fix the cause in a small diff
- Put guardrails in before you turn the agent back on
- Then decide salvage or rewrite from the evidence, not from frustration
